  • Our Sunday School and Youth Group lessons for this week are based off of Nehemiah 5:1-19.

Verse of the Week: "... But I did not do so, because of the fear of God. I also persevered in the work on this wall, and we acquired no land, and all my servants were gathered there for the work.” Nehemiah 5:15b-16

Here are a few questions you can ask your kids to help engage with them throughout the week:

    1. What are some anxieties and worries you have that might be keeping you from being faithful to God?

    2. What are some ways that money, possessions, popularity, and other worldly things can deceive us?

    3. What does it mean to faithfully walk in the fear of the Lord?

  • We're here to come alongside you as you disciple your children!

Here is one resource we thought might be helpful to you this week:

In this article, Brent Corbin, Executive Director of Reformed Youth Ministries, encourages parents to be intentional about carving out and creating quality time to spend with their students.

We pray that this is edifying and beneficial to you as you walk through life with your students, and want to remind you that we here at Haven are here for not just your kids, but for you as well! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you’re going through difficulties of any kind.

Ministry Update!

This past week, Matt and I went up to Maryland for our denomination’s CDM Next Gen Youth Ministry Conference. We were so encouraged to see the work that the Lord is doing in student ministries across the East Coast! We learned so much and were able to form new relationships with lots of other youth ministry workers while up there.

One of the things we learned about was how to care for and walk with students through seasons of anxiety and worry. A licensed Biblical counselor expounded on some of the roots of anxiety, and showed us how we can address their worries by praying through the Psalms with them, reminding them that the end of their story is sure, and caring for their minds, emotions, and bodies.

We are excited to implement the things we learned about into our relationships with your students and into Haven’s structural program!

As always, let us know how we can be praying for you and your families.

Your friends,

Matt and Lauren
