Our Sunday School and Youth Group lessons for this week are based off of Nehemiah 2:9-4:23.
Verse of the Week: "And I told them of the hand of my God that had been upon me for good, and also of the words that the king had spoken to me. And they said, “Let us rise up and build.” So they strengthened their hands for the good work.” Nehemiah 4:18
Here are a few questions you can ask your kids to help engage with them throughout the week:
In what ways does God use seasons of having to wait in our lives?
How do prayer and action go hand-in-hand when it comes to following God and obeying His call?
What are some ways we can respond to opposition as we follow God?
What will enable us to remain faithful in the middle of opposition?
Main Takeaway:
God uses our waiting to prepare us for the work He calls us to do, and no opposition can come against His purposes. God is building His dwelling place with the living stones of His people and with Jesus as the cornerstone and gate of His dwelling. -
We're here to come alongside you as you disciple your children!
Here is one resource we thought might be helpful to you this week:
In this video, Clark Fobes highlights the importance of understanding diversity and cultural context when reaching Gen Z with the gospel, noting how social media has influenced a shift from guilt-innocence to honor-shame paradigms. He encourages churches to equip parents and youth pastors to navigate these changes and to provide a sense of belonging rooted in the gospel. After Fobes's message, a panel discusses prioritizing family ministry, integrating intergenerational discipleship, supporting a variety of family structures and leveraging existing church resources.
We pray that this is edifying and beneficial to you as you walk through life with your students, and want to remind you that we here at Haven are here for not just your kids, but for you as well! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you’re going through difficulties of any kind.
