  • Our Sunday School and Youth Group lessons for this week are based off of Nehemiah 6-7.

Verse of the Week: “And when all our enemies heard of it, all the nations around us were afraid and fell greatly in their own esteem, for they perceived that this work had been accomplished with the help of our God.” Nehemiah 6:16

Here are a few questions you can ask your kids to help engage with them throughout the week:

    1. Are you more likely to pray about something, or just take action? Why?

    2. In what ways can we become more confident in the word of God? What is one step you can take to grow in God’s word?

    3. What does it look like for us to trust God’s strength, even in our weaknesses?

Main Takeaway: While we will face opposition to the work of God, our call is to remain faithful, knowing that God’s power is made perfect in our weakness.

  • We're here to come alongside you as you disciple your children!

Here is one resource we thought might be helpful to you this week:

“Kids Need to Know Faith Is More Than ‘Being Good’”

In this article, Bethany Mcilrath explains the importance of teaching your students that being a Christian is more than behavior modification. She gives biblically backed ways that you can teach your child the context of what fuels a believer’s obedience to the Word of God.

We pray that this is edifying and beneficial to you as you walk through life with your students, and want to remind you that we here at Haven are here for not just your kids, but for you as well! Please don’t hesitate to reach out to us if you’re going through difficulties of any kind.

Ministry Update:

Last night the President of Covenant College, Dr. Brad Voyles and his wife, Kelli Voyles, came to visit! Covenant College is the PCA’s denominational school and is also where we take our middle schoolers for The Edge in the summer. Dr. Voyles shared insights on faith, purpose, and finding God’s direction in every season on life! Afterwards, they both joined the students for ice cream and brownies and were able to connect with them on a one-on-one basis! We are so grateful to Dr. Voyles and his wife for taking the time to come speak to our students during their trip to Miami! If you have a student who is getting ready to begin college applications, be sure to consider Covenant College!
